Sustainable and to enjoy… Specialty Coffee
The wonder tree with her blackbird singing has become quieter. When the sun comes through, now and then the blackbirds start to sing again. I pour another cup of Panama Los Lajones Organic filter coffee grown by Graciono. I made it two hours ago but it still has a beautiful flavour. The cold wind is blowing around the house and it blows the smell of coffee into my nose. The leaves are falling of the vine. It is cold outside. Imagine that it will not be spring ever again… With the climate conference in Copenhagen the item sustainability will be in the news for the next couple of months. Many initiatives for sustainability are being suggested. The same goes for the coffee business. Is it important to you that you can enjoy a cup of coffee which is sustainable? The Golden Coffee Box is working on both.
Sustainable taste
To enjoy the taste and the sustainability are both concepts that are inextricable linked to each other within the company. We select our coffee farmers on those concepts. The coffee farmers who are producing our specialty coffees will produce coffee which will have a remaining taste. If you pour a cup of filter coffee from it, the taste and the aroma will remain better. Even cold the coffee is beautiful. We are working with top qualities of single estates and not with big roasted stocks; this will ensure that you can pour a top quality espresso and that you do not have to throw away any old or dreadful coffee. The coffee farmers from which we are importing Direct Trade are getting a high cash bonus on top of the fair trade guaranteed price because they produce specialty quality for us. This way they are able to apply new organic producing methods, for an even better quality and often a more efficient way to work with energy and natural recourses. Like Graciano Cruz, who introduced the Ethiopian drying method in Panama. This method did ensure that the use of water to wash the coffee beans in was reduced enormously and also on sanitation there was much money saved.
Long living sustainable espresso machines
Maybe you are the buyer of an espresso machine which has been on your sink for about 10 to 15 years, and still is as good as new(*), your second baby. I am glad if a compliment like that is mentioned in our store. But also in catering businesses to which we also deliver goods, often it occurs that the La Marzocco espresso machine is producing beautiful flavours in his second decennium.

Enjoying sustainable top quality is like…
Health and happiness. The best thing about top quality single estate coffees is that they are very healthy to drink. All possible bean defects that are disturbing the taste and you stomach are taken care of. Because the Arabica beans grow high above sea level, the cups of coffee contain in a natural way less caffeine than normally and prevent giving you a chased feeling from it. With their rainbow of tastes it will provide you a moment of happiness, alone or together. That is why my advice is: Indudge yourself to the sustainable organic taste! And… therewith you will help to discourage the climate problem.
